FAQs

How long are appointments?

Appointments are typically 60 minutes for an individual session and 90 minutes for a couple’s session.

Where are you located?

I'm located in Blackwall, on the Central Coast. This is approximately 90 minutes from CBD. The closest train station is Woy Woy.

Do you offer free sessions under Medicare’s Mental Health Plan?

No, I do not offer free sessions under Medicare’s Mental Health Plan. However, it is important to me to offer a number of hours every week to pro bono clients. If you are interested in joining the waiting list for therapy, please feel free to email me, and I shall endeavor to include you as soon as possible.  I also offer sliding scale of fees, as much as I can.

What types of therapy do you offer?

As a psychotherapist, my training emphasizes various strategies and techniques tailored to best support the unique needs of each client. Through extensive study, I've familiarized myself with approximately 12 to 15 modalities, offering a diverse array of approaches beyond what is commonly employed by psychologists, including CBT, ACT, and DBT. My personal philosophy involves drawing from this broad toolkit to tailor my approach to each client's personality, rather than adhering to a one-size-fits-all modality.

Here is a selection of modalities I frequently utilise:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Psychoanalytic Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Adlerian Therapy

  • Existential Therapy

  • Gestalt Therapy

  • Behaviour Therapy

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Family Systems Therapy

  • Reality Therapy

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

  • Family Therapy

My therapeutic approach is eclectic, as I do not adhere strictly to one specific therapy. I believe in the importance of tailoring strategies and techniques to suit the individual needs of each client. If a particular approach does not resonate with a client, I view it not as a fault of the client, but rather as an indication that the strategy or technique may not be the right fit. In such cases, we simply explore alternative strategies or techniques to find what works.
